General Questions

Why is SBOC transitioning to a new system?

Shoshone Benewah One Call (SBOC) has entered into an agreement with One Call Concepts, Inc. (OCC), under which OCC will provide all one call services for Shoshone County and Benewah County in Idaho, effective October 1, 2026. The new system will provide SBOC member utilities and excavators with new, easy-to-use technological capabilities.

Until then, North Idaho 811 will continue to accept locate requests from contractors, homeowners, or anyone else planning to dig in Idaho’s Shoshone or Benewah counties. It is vitally important that you call or submit a locate request before digging on any project—large or small.

Starting October 1, 2026, locate requests for Shoshone or Benewah County in Idaho will be processed through the Dig Safe North Idaho 811 center, operated by OCC.

OCC will bring a number of exciting technological capabilities to the center.

  • For example, members have the ability to create, modify, delete, and maintain their notification areas via a simple web-based interface. They will also be able to create extremely specific notification areas to reduce notifications that result in a clear/no conflict status. OCC provides members with access to free ticket management tools that allow them to manage all of their notifications and workflow distribution. Click here to learn more.
  • Excavators will have access to ITICnxt, OCC’s user-friendly online ticket entry tool, and are able to submit locates 24/7/365 from anywhere with internet access. Users can provide supporting documents via the upload feature and easily map the precise area where the work is taking place using advanced mapping tools on a multi-layer interactive map. A customized ticket management tool designed specifically for excavators is also available at no charge. Some areas served by OCC receive more than 80% of their located tickets via ITICnxt, which OCC believes is a testament to its intuitive interface and user experience.

When will the new SBOC system go live?

The new one call services through the Dig Safe North Idaho 811 center, operated by One Call Concepts, will go live on October 1, 2026.

What are some of the software tools that will be available through the Dig Safe North Idaho 811 center?

ISITE: The web portal used to access the suite of online notification area database management and ticket management tools. A single login will bring users to multiple tools, saving time.

IMAP: For member utilities to manage their notification area databases.

Locator Tickets: For member utilities to control the management, assignment, tracking, and response of locate requests.

My Tickets: For excavators to manage, track, and monitor their locate requests.

Ticket Check: A positive response system where member utilities may provide information regarding ticket status.

Ticket Search: A public portal that enables users to search, view, and print copies of locate tickets, including positive response.

ITICnxt: For use by excavators for submitting and managing locate requests online.

ITIC Lite: A simplified tool for use by homeowners for submitting locate requests online.

What is the numbering system for ticket numbers after October 1, 2026?

The ticket number will be nine digits (YYJJJTTTT). The first two numbers represent the year (2026 = 26), the next three numbers represent the Julian date (the day of the year 1–365), and the last four numbers are the sequential ticket number for the day (1-9999th ticket submitted on that particular day). The 250th ticket processed on October 4, 2026, would have a ticket number of 262770250.

*As a reminder, the 811 call routing system is based on the physical location you are calling from and/or the cell tower that routes your call. Dialing 8-1-1 from outside or near the Shoshone or Benewah County lines could result in your call being routed to a different call center. I use an automated ticket management system. Who do I contact to make sure it will work and that I’ll be able to receive tickets after the transition has taken place?

Who will I contact to manage notification areas in the Dig Safe North Idaho 811 system?

IMAP will be the easiest way to manage your coverage area(s). It is an easy-to-use online tool designed to let member utilities create and modify their areas of coverage.

How do I request a search for tickets processed on or after January 1, 2026?

Dig Safe North Idaho 811 offers a comprehensive Ticket Search function allowing both excavators and member utilities the ability to search for Dig Safe North Idaho 811 tickets. For Shoshone and Benewah counties, this will include all tickets received or processed after October 1, 2026.

Ticket search assistance will also be available via Dig Safe North Idaho 811 Customer Support, which you can reach by emailing [email protected] or calling 1-877-668-4001.

What is a District Code?

A district code (also known as a CDC) is a unique identification that is assigned to member utilities within our database. These codes are used to identify the individual member utilities or even departments within a utility. They are also used as methods for identifying notification areas, ticket delivery, and contact information for each utility. Some members elect to have a single district code representing their entire notification area, while others choose to break down their notification area into multiple district codes allowing for internal handling based on those codes.

What options will I have for processing a locate request?

After October 1, 2026, you will be able to submit locate requests to dig in Shoshone County and Benewah County in Idaho through Dig Safe North Idaho 811’s online ticket submission system, ITICnxt, or you can call 1-800-428-4950, 866-242-5844, or 8-1-1 to process them over the phone.

When will I receive a copy of my ticket with the new system?

If you provide an email address when submitting a locate request, an email confirmation will be sent to you. Click on the link to view your ticket and a satellite map that shows the excavation area you have identified. The link found on your email confirmation will also provide access to any tickets you process for Shoshone County and Benewah County after October 1, 2026.

Will I be able to process tickets 24/7?

Yes, Dig Safe North Idaho 811 processes all types of tickets 24/7/365.

ITICnxt users will be able to submit all tickets online 24/7. Requests submitted online after regular business hours that require review will be completed by the notification center the next business day.

Can I attach excavation site maps to my locate requests in the new system?

You will be able to attach files to a locate request if you use ITICnxt. ITICnxt users can attach photos, drawings, notes, or any other document from their computer to a locate request placed through the platform.

Please note that an attachment is only supplemental information to help member utilities understand your ticket. ITICnxt users MUST ensure the specific instructions in the body of the ticket clearly identifies the location of the proposed excavation area.

What if I have trouble logging into the Dig Safe North Idaho 811 online ticketing system?
